Brief Introduction Related To Scaffolding

Scaffolding is basically known as scaffold or staging. It is a temporary structure that is used to support materials and work crew. It aids in man-made structures maintenance, construction, and repair of buildings.

The use of scaffolds is done widely on site in order to access heights and areas. Without scaffolds, it would be hard to get to these heights. If the scaffolding is unsafe then it can result in death or serious injury. You have a look at to know more about scaffolding

The use of scaffolding is also done in adapted forms. This is done for grandstand seating, concert stages, exhibition stands, half pipes and formwork, and shoring.

There are five types of scaffolding that are used worldwide these days. The types of scaffolding are listed below:

  • Tube and Coupler (fitting) components
  • Prefabricated modular system scaffold components
  • H-frame / facade modular system scaffolds
  • Timber scaffolds
  • Bamboo scaffolds

The use of the different component is done while making each type of scaffolding. These components are listed below:

A base jack or plate- It is a load-bearing case used in the scaffold.

The standard- It is an upright component with connector joins.

The ledger- It is just like a horizontal brace.

The transom- This is load-bearing and horizontal cross-section component. This component holds the batten, board, or decking unit.

Brace diagonal- It is a cross-sectional bracing component.

Batten or board decking component-This is used for making of the working platform.

Coupler- It is fitting that is used to join components.

Scaffold tie- This used to tie scaffold to structures.

Brackets- For extending the width of working platforms brackets are used. Browse here to know more about scaffolding.

Specialized components used in the temporary structure are heavy duty load bearing transoms, ladders or stairway units for the ingress and egress of the scaffold. Rubbish chutes are used here in order to remove unwanted materials from the construction project.
